Primary Care Physician Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Primary Care Physician to join our community-based outpatient VA clinic in Morehead City, North Carolina.

Morehead City is a charming coastal town with a rich history and natural beauty. The town has a population of approximately 9,556 people and offers a range of outdoor activities and cultural attractions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care to male and female Veterans, including prevention and patient self-management.
  • Deliver care in various modalities, including direct face-to-face care and virtual care.
  • Promote and direct referrals for clinical concerns and collaborate with clinical and administrative support to provide timely, quality, coordinated care.
  • Function as a member of a Patient Aligned Care Team and utilize approved standards of care, evidence-based medicine, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare resources to ensure continuity of care and participate in continuous medical education.
  • May provide coverage in primary care clinics and assist with arranging continuity of care across the VHA system.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities and attend medical center committees as assigned.

  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year.
  • Traditional federal pension and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
  • Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
  • No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program, up to $200k/$40k reimbursement per year for 5 years.
