POSITION SUMMARY

The Creative Arts Educator is responsible for delivering a high-quality, personalized educational experience in children's art.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute lesson plans and classroom activities that align with California State Standards and Aspire's instructional guidelines.
  • Regularly assess student performance and analyze results; adjust and differentiate instruction based on assessment data and individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices across the school; share effective strategies.
  • Maintain open communication with students and their families regarding classroom activities and student progress.
  • Engage parents and guardians as active partners in their children's education.
  • Manage student behavior to ensure full engagement from every student.
  • Participate actively in professional development opportunities and collaborate closely with lead teachers, principals, and instructional coaches.
  • Keep accurate student records, including attendance.
  • Identify unique student needs and work with team members to address those needs effectively.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and support for Aspire Public Schools' mission, vision, values, policies, and ethical standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Competencies:
  • Understanding of child cognitive development and diverse learning styles.
  • Expertise in subject matter, including California State Standards and relevant frameworks.
  • Familiarity with assessment methods.
  • Willingness to implement Aspire's instructional guidelines and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze both qualitative and quantitative student data.
  • Commitment to reflecting on and improving instructional practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and the community.
  1. Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Single subject: Art authorization required; English learner authorization required.
  1. Experience:
  • At least one year of successful service in a certificated position.
  1. Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, and pull; lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds to shoulder height.
  • Repetitive use of hands for fine manipulation and grasping.
  • Normal depth perception.
  • Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods.
  • Dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed materials with or without aids.
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone with or without aids.
  1. Work Authorization Requirements:
  • Clear the Department of Justice background screening.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Provide health (TB) clearance, renewed every four years.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $66,593 - $126,836, based on years of experience.
