Role Overview:

  • Deliver essential intraoperative support to patients by collaborating with the surgical team during procedures.
  • Qualifications:
    • Valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse along with a minimum of two years of scrub experience.
    • Successful completion of a Surgical Technology Program and certification as a surgical technologist.
    • Participation in a surgical tech externship program and certification as a surgical technologist.
    • Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • At least one year of experience in Surgical Technology is highly desirable.
    • Advanced expertise in the relevant specialty is strongly preferred.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Employ high-quality aseptic techniques within the operating room.
    • Assist the circulating RN in overseeing the sterile field.
    • Conduct sponge, instrument, and needle counts accurately.
    • Support the surgical team in gowning, gloving, and positioning equipment.
    • Prepare necessary supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
    • Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed.
    • Engage in cleaning responsibilities within the department.
    • Perform equipment checks and document patient charges appropriately.
    • Guide and mentor team members to foster their professional growth.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and maneuver heavy carts.
    • Possess visual, auditory, and manual dexterity skills.
    • Capacity to wear lead for prolonged durations.
