Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Medical Technician to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Job

This Emergency Medical Technician role will provide direct patient care under the guidelines and protocols provided by the UNMH Rapid Response Medical Director. The ideal candidate will identify patients who require a higher level of care and assist in implementing that care to reduce mortality in the hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Work in conjunction with the Rapid Response Paramedics to respond to emergency situations across the hospital complex.
  • Provide basic life support up to advanced life support, including defibrillation, medication administration, and other essential interventions.
  • Maintain and stock vehicles to ensure patient and provider safety.
  • Perform patient care, stabilize patients, and guide care until providers arrive.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate License
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days
  • A valid New Mexico Driver's License
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions under pressure
