Accounting Clerk

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at Food City Nogales. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for performing all phases of the store's front-end accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the store's bookkeeping functions, including maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and reconciling accounts.
• Perform daily banking procedures, including ordering cash and change, and verifying bank deposits.
• Monitor and resolve NSF checks and bad debts, and maintain accurate postings and notifications.
• Assist in auditing work and respond to company accountants as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service, engaging with customers through smiles and greetings, and offering product information and suggestions.
• Process cash register transactions, input product costs, and provide change and refunds as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized office, customer service counter, and check stand.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a retail environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of accounting software.
