Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Student Wellbeing Specialist to join our team at KIPP Kansas City. This role plays a critical part in promoting the social, emotional, and academic success of our students.

About the Position

This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to supporting students' mental health and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, families, and educators to create a positive and inclusive school environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote student wellbeing, providing individual and group counseling services, and collaborating with teachers and staff to support student success.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct Assessments and Develop Support Plans: Conduct thorough assessments of students' needs and develop personalized support plans to address their social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Provide Counselling Services: Offer individual and group counselling sessions to students to help them manage mental health concerns, trauma, and personal issues impacting their academic performance.
  • Collaborate with Educators: Work closely with teachers and staff to implement strategies that promote positive student outcomes and enhance overall school culture.
  • Advocate for Students: Act as a liaison between the school, families, and external agencies to coordinate services and resources for students and their families.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Social Work (required) or a related field; Master's degree in Social Work (preferred); Valid social work license in the state of Missouri (required).
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a school-based or clinical social work setting; At least 2 years of teaching experience (highly preferred but not required).
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications. As a full-time KIPP Kansas City employee, you will be eligible to participate in all KIPP Kansas City benefit plans, including medical, dental, and vision options, as well as life insurance, fertility, and disability plans.
