Responsibilities:


In the role of a Certified Respiratory Therapist at CommonSpirit Health, you will collaborate with a skilled team of professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with respiratory challenges.

Your expertise will be essential in delivering specialized cardiopulmonary services, including but not limited to ventilator management, nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapies, and pulmonary function assessments.

Your effectiveness in this position will stem from your strong assessment abilities and your capacity to maintain composure in high-pressure situations. Your critical thinking skills will be vital in developing comprehensive care plans tailored to patient needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments, documenting vital signs, breath sounds, and respiratory patterns.
  • Ensuring the functionality of all respiratory equipment and modalities, maintaining alarms, and documenting procedures accurately.
  • Performing arterial blood gas tests while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining accurate lab logs.
  • Managing medication processes, including proper labeling and disposal.


CommonSpirit Health offers an Education Benefit program for eligible employees, providing financial support for educational advancement. Full-time employees may receive up to $18,000 over five years, while part-time employees can access up to $9,000.



Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
Valid Arizona Respiratory Therapist License
Certification as a National Certified Respiratory Therapist or National Registered Respiratory Therapist
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:
Credential as a National Registered Respiratory Therapist
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
NRP or PALS certification
