Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Billing Support Specialist to join our team at St. Lukes Health Network. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our billing and insurance verification processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain prior-authorizations and referrals from insurance companies for patients undergoing specialty care, diagnostic procedures, and surgery.
  • Perform scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-authorizations to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
  • Monitor and update current orders and tasks, managing orders through Allscripts and Epic to provide up-to-date and accurate information.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • Work collaboratively with Central Scheduling and Pre-Encounter Departments to ensure efficient and effective patient flow.
  • Document all interactions and transactions in our electronic medical record system.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of medical business office procedures, basic accounting, and ICD-10 and CPT codes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
