Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facility Systems Engineer to join our team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating complex mechanical systems in DOE Hazard Category 2 and 3 nuclear facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the operational status of assigned systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting, repair, and modification of assigned systems.
  • Apply advanced engineering knowledge and judgment to resolve complex mechanical system problems and issues.
  • Develop and review documentation for proposed solutions and ensure technical adequacy.
  • Identify and recommend timely procurement of spare parts for assigned systems.
  • Develop and review facility/system-related procedures and work instructions.
  • Conduct reviews and provide advice on system-related design, operation, and maintenance issues.
  • Prepare detailed assessment reports for facility management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent level of education.
  • Significant experience in the design, operation, troubleshooting, or maintenance of facility mechanical systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and practices related to facility-related mechanical systems.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering Registration in Mechanical Engineering in California or reciprocity from another state.
  • Significant experience working with facility mechanical systems in a nuclear facility.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and value inclusion, diversity, equity, and accountability principles in the workplace.
