Job Summary

The Production Supervisor II is a key position in the company, responsible for supporting and contributing to the company's goals of profitability, return on investment, inventory turnover, and accident prevention. This role involves supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in the manufacturing of product, organizing and maintaining production schedules, and ensuring product is manufactured to engineering specifications with quality and cost objectives a priority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Focus on safety in all aspects of the job and company meetings
  • Requisition materials required to meet production schedule and coordinate flow of material through department
  • Ensure work orders and material transactions are accurate and complete
  • Prioritize and assign work orders, working closely with production planning and control
  • Inspect work to ensure accuracy to specifications, direct routings of rejects and rework, and investigate and determine causes of defects
  • Monitor backlog problems, work order flow, and bottleneck issues on production floor
  • Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment, quality, working conditions, and efficiency
  • Maintain time and production records, analyze departmental production performance, and recommend personnel actions
  • Ensure employees are trained in the operation and safe use of equipment and machines
  • Provide input for budget preparation and staffing levels based on workload
  • Conduct and monitor training programs and department meetings
Requirements
  • Good leadership skills, problem-solving, human relations, and persuasion and motivation
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Good coordination skills, planning, prioritizing, and organizing various activities
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and production schedules
  • Physical capability to stand/walk the production floor for 8+ hour shifts
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, and travel
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED certificate required, associates degree or technical school preferred
  • 3+ years previous supervisory experience required, working knowledge/experience in manufacturing environment required
