Empowering Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

ArcMorris is seeking a dedicated Prevocational Skills Trainer to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by teaching essential work-related skills, preparing them for meaningful employment and greater independence.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead and facilitate a Job Club focused on employment readiness, providing training on interview skills, resume writing, and job application processes. You will also offer on-site job coaching at interview and work locations to ensure success, developing soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and time management.

You will adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and individual needs, collaborating with other staff and community partners to support participants' career goals. Additionally, you will track and document participant progress, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.

The successful candidate will have prior experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring, preferably in vocational skills or working with individuals with disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as flexibility and creativity in adapting teaching methods to suit diverse learners.
