We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Trainee Horticulturists in the Horticulture and Living Collections department.
Job SummaryAs a Trainee Horticulturist, you will assist in the implementation of the operational plan and learn horticultural and associated activities as part of a team. The Traineeship will include a formal training contract and one day per week study toward Certificate II or III in Horticulture.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the gardens and parklands.
- Participate in the implementation of the operational plan and contribute to the team's efforts.
- Develop knowledge and skills in horticulture and associated activities.
- Study toward Certificate II or III in Horticulture as part of the Traineeship.
Applicants should address the following five (5) criteria in their application:
- Successful completion of Year 10.
- Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of horticulture.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness and ability to perform physical work year round in an outdoor team environment.
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the Western Australian flora.
To be eligible for appointment, it is essential to have Australian citizenship, New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency status or a visa with entitlement to live and work in Australia for the term of the contract.
