About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Staff Nurse to join our Developmental and Behavioral Health team at Children's Mercy KC. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to children and teens with developmental, psychiatric, or psychological needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high-quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate plan of care for patients and families.
- Meet the educational needs of patients and families and advocate for their needs.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, efficient, and family-centered environment.
- Utilize current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge, enhance role performance, and improve nursing care quality.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree (current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role).
- No experience necessary; on-the-job training provided.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred for all direct care nurses hired after September 1, 2013.
- Direct care nurses hired after this date without a BSN must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date.
- Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire.
- Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire.
- RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO.
- Employees must obtain Licensed RN - Kansas or equivalent within 90 days.
