Position Overview:
As a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

The NICU at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is a premier 17-bed facility, equipped to manage the most intricate medical needs of newborns.


Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients.
- Develop, implement, and revise patient care plans while monitoring and evaluating their effectiveness.
- Accurately document and communicate patient conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to physician and nursing directives.
- Assess and facilitate patient discharge requirements, providing education to patients and their families.


Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Hold a current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- A minimum of one year of recent experience in acute care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or emergency department settings is essential. Military RN experience will also be considered.

Additionally, RNs in the NICU must maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification through the AHA, while those in Children's Hospital and Rehabilitation must achieve Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.


Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly regarded.


Physical Requirements:
- The role demands a full range of motion, including the ability to lift and handle patients, along with manual dexterity and coordination.
- Extended periods of standing and walking are required.
- Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal ranges.
- Ability to work under stress and during irregular hours is necessary.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids is a possibility.

Physical demands exceed those for Light Work, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly.


Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adherence to standard precautions using personal protective equipment is mandatory.
