Employment Details

This is a full-time role requiring 36 hours of work per week, with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM for three days each week, including every other weekend. An on-call shift will be part of your weekly responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will involve working with adult patients requiring psychiatric support and overseeing the crisis unit. This role allows you to be a significant contributor without direct reports, enabling you to deliver recovery-oriented services in a safe environment for individuals in various crisis stages. Each day will present unique challenges and opportunities to utilize your diverse nursing expertise.

  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments and develop care plans for all admitted patients.
  • Collaborate with psychiatric prescribers to monitor patient medications.
  • Lead the management of patient treatment plans.
  • Participate in monthly Supervisor and All Staff meetings.
  • Facilitate medication education and wellness groups.
  • Oversee the orientation and training of new clinical staff.
  • Engage in therapeutic interactions and activities with patients.
  • In crisis situations, lead the team in implementing the least restrictive interventions.
  • Work closely with the clinical team and prescriber on treatment and discharge planning.

Qualifications
  • Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona.
  • 1 to 2 years of nursing experience is required.
  • Familiarity with Arizona Mental Health Law and the petition process, as well as State Nursing Rules and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques is essential.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of post-degree experience in psychiatric nursing.
  • Prior experience in behavioral health before obtaining a nursing license may be considered.
