Equiliem is seeking a local contract Medical Assistant for a 13-week assignment in Springboro, Ohio.

About the Opportunity

This position offers a chance to work in a dynamic medical office setting, providing exceptional patient care and support to healthcare professionals. As a Medical Assistant, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the smooth operation of our clinic.

Job Summary:

Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals in examination and treatment of patients under their direction. Maintain patient flow during clinic hours, document patient information, and update medical records. Perform various clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, administering vaccinations, and assisting with procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations by keeping patient care information secure.
  2. Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physicians, maintaining patient flow during clinic hours.
  3. Document review of systems, measure vital signs, update past and current medical, social, and family history, and review medications.
  4. Correctly record patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  5. Prepare patient charts in EMR for visits, scanning, abstracting, and reviewing to ensure all diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other medical records are up-to-date.
  6. Refill medications and pre-authorize medications, communicating with the patient, pharmacy, or insurance company as needed.
  7. Maintain recording of patient samples and other medications, disposing of expired medications.
  8. Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients, maintain clean and fully supplied exam rooms, and order medical supplies as needed.
  9. Obtain pertinent medical information from patients to facilitate medical decision making per specific office protocol procedures.
  10. Returns calls as needed and responds to MyChart messages.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with patients, physicians, visitors, coworkers, and drug reps in person or by telephone. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of electronic medical records and practice management systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two to five years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a related field.
  • Experience working in different care settings, such as primary care, specialty care, EMT, etc.
  • Complementary clinical skills, such as phlebotomy, performing EKGs, suture removal, splinting, etc.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
