We are in search of a skilled and proactive Tax Compliance Manager to become an integral part of our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will oversee all facets of tax compliance, planning, and strategy for our clientele within the finance sector. This role requires extensive expertise in state tax regulations, particularly in relation to trusts and estates. The Tax Compliance Manager will engage with various types of trusts, including revocable living trusts, marital trusts, bypass trusts, and charitable split-interest trusts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage comprehensive tax compliance for Trusts and Estates, ensuring timely submissions.
- Formulate and execute tax planning strategies tailored to clients, considering state tax regulations and the unique requirements of diverse trusts.
- Conduct thorough research on tax laws, case precedents, and industry trends to provide clients with accurate and timely advice.
- Collaborate closely with clients to assess their needs and deliver customized tax solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior staff members, offering support and professional development.
- Communicate with regulatory bodies as required.
- Prepare and review intricate tax returns for various trust types.
- Stay informed on legislative changes and advise clients accordingly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree or CPA designation is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in a tax management capacity, ideally within the finance sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of state tax regulations, trust taxation principles, and fiduciary accounting income.
- Familiarity with various trust types, including revocable living trusts, marital trusts, bypass trusts, and charitable split-interest trusts.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing junior staff.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the capability to interpret complex tax regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax matters clearly.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
