As a key member of our facilities team at UNC Health Care, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital buildings, grounds, vehicles, facilities, equipment, and electrical and mechanical devices.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in maintenance and repair projects, with experience working on various types of equipment and systems. You will be responsible for performing skilled work of moderate to significant difficulty, including emergency, preventive, and customer-requested work under the supervision of a higher-level maintenance mechanic or supervisor.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Corrective Maintenance: Responding promptly to notifications from the department's Work Control Center or end-users to perform necessary repairs or replacements within 24 hours.
- Emergency Maintenance: Addressing urgent issues that require immediate attention to prevent harm or injury to patients, visitors, or staff, or extensive damage to equipment or facilities.
- Scheduled Maintenance: Utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to prioritize and perform tasks necessary to maintain equipment, devices, or conditions in good working order.
- Service Request Maintenance: Performing non-emergency work requested by end-users, prioritized and scheduled by Work Control.
