Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs
  • Record patient histories and chief complaints in the computer system
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures, including positioning, draping, shaving, and disinfecting treatment sites
  • Assist with exams, perform visual acuities, and support invasive procedures
  • Place leads and perform EKGs, conduct ear lavages, remove sutures or staples from superficial wounds, and apply basic dressings
  • Collect and label urine and stool specimens, draw blood and obtain other specimens as ordered by the provider, and run all lab work
  • Apply splints, collect and sterilize supplies, rooms, and equipment, and prepare abscess and laceration trays and supplies for pelvic exams
  • Measure for crutches and provide crutch teaching, remain flexible for cross-training, and occasionally take on tasks outside the normal scope of practice
  • Observe, identify, and address needs to move the organization forward, and perform other duties as needed to support our vision, mission, and values
