Key Responsibilities

As a Tree Crew Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in leading tree care crews, managing job site production, delegating tasks, enforcing safety policies, and providing training. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Directing crew members in the performance of work and assigning job-specific tasks.
  • Supervising workmanship to ensure it meets job order specifications.
  • Collaborating with consulting arborists to develop work plans and ensuring crew members wear personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Managing time, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient job completion.
  • Directing the cleanup of job sites and ensuring all equipment and supplies are secured on trucks.
  • Communicating with clients to ensure work meets their satisfaction.
  • Reordering materials and supplies needed for trucks and equipment.
  • Adhering to company safety and training policies to maintain a safe and controlled work environment.
  • Confirming that all maintenance checks and services on equipment are followed.
  • Ensuring crews are properly trained and understand company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participating in job site safety briefings.
  • Demonstrating and performing proper climbing techniques and procedures, pruning skills, and application of approved knots and rigging techniques.
  • Operating equipment in a safe manner.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5-7 years of industry experience in residential tree care with the ability to train and direct crew members in all facets of tree care.
  • Knowledge of native and introduced tree and shrub species and their characteristics.
  • Knowledge of tree bio-mechanics and advanced rigging techniques.
  • Knowledge of proper pruning practices, including large shade trees and ornamentals.
  • Knowledge of chain saw safety and operation.
  • Adept in tree climbing techniques and bucket truck operation.
  • Knowledge of ANSI A300 and safety standards.
  • Ability to perform quality workmanship and quality control with a customer-centric attitude.
  • Valid Driver's License, CDL license preferred.
