We are currently seeking a Senior Vice President - Professional Liability Underwriting to enhance our Financial Lines division. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned underwriter with a market-facing background to contribute to the growth of our wholesale operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite a diverse portfolio of primary and excess miscellaneous professional liability risks, with a strong emphasis on acquiring new business.
- Evaluate new business accounts in accordance with company standards, assessing risk acceptability, contractual terms, and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with the Vice President to monitor and manage the overall performance and production of the underwriting portfolio.
- Develop new business prospects by leveraging established relationships with wholesale brokers.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with wholesale brokers within the designated territory.
- Represent Brown & Brown at industry networking events and professional gatherings.
- Stay informed on legal and regulatory developments, as well as claims trends, to enhance portfolio profitability.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree coupled with over 7 years of experience in professional liability underwriting, focusing on areas such as Miscellaneous Professional Liability, real estate, accounting, insurance, media, or technology.
- Proven track record of contributing to underwriting profitability.
- Ability to make independent decisions and take full accountability for outcomes.
- In-depth knowledge of the professional liability market landscape.
- A well-established network of wholesale broker connections.
- A proactive approach to identifying growth opportunities within the portfolio and potential broker partnerships.
