Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team at Glens Falls Hospital. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to expectant mothers and their newborns.

Job Summary:

The Labor and Delivery Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to patients in labor, as well as postpartum care to new mothers and their babies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in obstetrics and gynecology, with experience in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care to expectant mothers and their newborns
  • Assess and manage patients in labor, including monitoring fetal heart rates and providing pain management
  • Provide postpartum care to new mothers, including wound care and breastfeeding support
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in obstetrics and gynecology
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of current EPIC experience required
  • 2+ years of current L&D/LDRP experience
  • 2+ years of postpartum experience
  • Ability to read and interpret EFM
  • Must be able to care for laboring mothers
  • Must have their own vehicle
  • Must be reliable with no attendance concerns, call outs, etc.
Work Environment:

The Labor and Delivery Nurse will work in a Level 1 Snuggery at Glens Falls Hospital, with an average patient census of 90-100 deliveries per month. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
