We're seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Proteomics Scientist to join our team as an Intern. As a member of our Quantitative, Translational, and ADME Sciences (QTAS) MS proteomics sub-team, you'll play a crucial role in adapting cutting-edge MAPPs technology to support Development Sciences specific requests.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. You'll work closely with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, contributing to the development of molecular characterization of tissues, biofluids, and models at the proteome level.
The goal of this internship is to onboard MAPPs technology, enhancing AbbVie's ability to assess immunogenicity risk of biotherapeutics. By providing a more accurate and comprehensive assessment, you'll enable faster decision-making and reduce the need for costly animal studies.
You'll be based in Worcester, MA, where you'll collaborate with the preclinical safety team to understand assay needs and limitations. Your key responsibilities will include identifying and optimizing suitable MAPPs technologies, planning and executing pilot and actual MAPPs studies, and reporting results to the preclinical safety team.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in immunology, oncology, biochemistry, or a related field. Proficiency in MS proteomics workflow, including sample preparation, design, and execution, is essential. You should also be familiar with mass spectrometry instrumentation and have excellent communication and presentation skills.
In addition to your technical expertise, you'll bring a strong team spirit and be able to clearly communicate advantages and challenges associated with sensitive sample preparation protocols.
