Position Overview:

The Sales Associate plays a crucial role in:

  • Promoting and selling merchandise while providing expert knowledge on plant care, seasonal growing schedules, and outdoor living products.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service that anticipates and exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Upholding a standard of courtesy and service.
  • Demonstrating tact and professionalism when assisting customers and colleagues.
  • Responding promptly and friendly to customer inquiries.
  • Offering guidance on the care of various plants, including houseplants and seasonal varieties.
  • Understanding local gardening practices and environmental requirements for optimal plant health.
  • Ensuring proper care and maintenance of merchandise.
  • Possessing knowledge of pest control and plant health management.
  • Advising customers on outdoor living products, including pool and lawn care equipment.
  • Utilizing manufacturer catalogs for product information.
  • Managing cash register operations with accuracy and adherence to procedures.
  • Arranging merchandise displays according to guidelines.
  • Maintaining stock levels and cleanliness in sales and storage areas.
  • Assisting in inventory management and reporting slow-moving items.
  • Ensuring accurate pricing and signage throughout the sales area.
  • Performing various cash register functions as directed.
  • Working in outdoor environments and adhering to safety regulations.
  • Being physically capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs.
  • Following prescribed procedures while addressing any unusual issues with supervisors.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.
