Position Overview:
The role involves a 12-hour shift schedule, specifically 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off, from 7 PM to 7 AM.
Responsibilities include delivering comprehensive clinical care to patients, which encompasses obtaining patient histories, ordering laboratory tests, conducting diagnostic studies, and facilitating referrals.
Exceptional bedside manner and the ability to foster a positive patient experience are essential.
Key duties include explaining medical procedures and care plans to patients, managing in-patient care, conducting rounds, handling admissions and discharges, and performing consultations.
Assessing patient health through interviews, physical examinations, and thorough review of medical histories is crucial.
Documentation of patient care services is required through accurate charting in our electronic health record system.
Participation in departmental meetings and professional development sessions is expected.
Knowledge of and adherence to internal medicine regulations, including HIPAA compliance, is mandatory.
Effective communication with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care is vital.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible.
- Successful completion of an accredited residency program in a relevant field.
- Eligibility to obtain a medical professional license in the State of New Mexico.
