As the leader of Sound's hospital medicine initiative at The Hospitals of Providence East Campus, I am excited to share insights about our outstanding hospitalist team with physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) considering a transition in their careers.
Our Team
We are a well-established, cohesive group comprising seven physicians and five advanced practice providers, supported by a clinical performance nurse. Our team brings a wealth of expertise in internal medicine, with many members having trained locally and possessing a deep understanding of the El Paso community's needs.
Additionally, our providers who have trained in various residency programs across the country contribute diverse perspectives that enhance our patient management strategies and improve community health outcomes.
We actively collaborate with our hospital partners on various committees, including trauma, cardiology, sepsis, code blue, patient experience, and hospital throughput, to ensure quality care for our patients.
We value each team member as part of our extended family and enjoy socializing outside of work through shared meals and friendly competitions like bowling or pool nights.
We proudly support J1 visa candidates, with Sound providing excellent in-house visa specialists and credentialing experts. All necessary filing fees for the visa process are covered by Sound.
Our Practice
We embrace the challenges presented by complex cases, operating in a semi-open ICU with intensivist coverage during the day and E-ICU support at night. While our team is not required to perform procedures, we play a vital role in the code blue response team.
For those interested in teaching, we have the opportunity to work with medical students, APPs, and residents from local educational institutions.
Our team meets monthly to discuss significant topics and provide educational opportunities that enhance the quality of care we deliver.
Recognizing the importance of work-life balance, we offer flexible scheduling and support one another in covering shifts.
