Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with medical needs
  • Provide direct care and health counseling to students, staff, and visitors
  • Assess student problems and communicate with parents and healthcare professionals
  • Administer medications and specialized health care procedures as needed
  • Collaborate with campus principal and staff to ensure a healthy school environment
Requirements
  • Valid registered nurse license (RN) to practice in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program required
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) working proficiency preferred in some settings
Working Conditions

The School Nurse will work in an office setting and be exposed to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases. The position requires regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.
