The Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services is seeking to fill a vacancy within the End User Computing Section. This position may be filled by a new hire or by promoting a current permanent status classified employee.

This role is part of a career progression group and may be filled at the IT Statewide Engineer 1, 2, or 3 levels based on the experience of the selected candidate. The maximum salary for the IT Statewide Engineer 3 is $117,998. For detailed information regarding salary ranges, minimum qualifications, and job concepts for each level, please refer to the relevant sections on the Civil Service website.
Prior to employment, a background check, including criminal record history, will be conducted. This check will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability for the position. Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess a baccalaureate degree along with three years of experience in information technology.
Substitutions:

3. Six years of full-time work experience in any field may substitute for the required baccalaureate degree.
Job Concepts
FUNCTION OF WORK:

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
This position differs from IT Statewide Associate Engineer 4 by the presence of serving as a technical lead performing moderately complex tasks in support of a statewide information technology infrastructure system.

The Office of Technology Services is dedicated to delivering innovative, effective, and reliable solutions that enhance IT functions within Executive Branch Departments. The office aims to maximize the return on the State's investment in technology by promoting informed decision-making, resolving issues intelligently, and fostering a skilled and professional workforce.
This position serves as an Advanced Senior Technical Support role, primarily focused on supporting a complex, multi-agency Local and Metropolitan Area Networks. This is a senior technical support position requiring the ability to functionally supervise other technical personnel and provide leadership in managing and supporting IP communications within a statewide multi-service network.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as a technical lead for statewide information technology VoIP Infrastructure system, leading collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams and vendors to gather requirements and resolve complex issues.
2. Provide senior-level support to team members regarding the implementation of complex VoIP hardware and software solutions.
3. Manage VoIP infrastructure interoperability among customers and collaborative teams based on evaluations of work processes and customer requirements.
4. Create and maintain technical documentation for customer education and internal knowledge.
5. Plan and organize complex VoIP network projects, including major platform migrations.
6. Oversee project status reporting, problem resolution, and quality assurance.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support for the State's Hosted IP Communications Services contract.
2. Analyze VoIP network patterns for strategic infrastructure design.
3. Consult with vendors for evaluating software and hardware used in managing the Enterprise Network.
Ongoing training in VoIP, networking concepts, and project management will be provided.
