Position Overview:
Are you ready to engage in projects that address critical infrastructure challenges? Take your engineering expertise to new heights by working on significant projects that will positively influence the community. We are seeking a Lead Structural Engineer specializing in bridge design.


Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Ensure that bridge designs comply with established Federal, State, and local agency standards, as well as accepted industry practices.
  • Provide technical direction to CAD Designers, Engineers, and Drafters involved in the same projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers on various design initiatives.
  • Deliver structural designs for various types of bridges, including single span, multiple span, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, precast concrete, and steel.
  • Prepare structural specifications, conduct quantity calculations, and generate detailed engineering analyses.
  • Complete a range of assignments, including drawings and specifications for procurement and construction.
  • Review supplier drawings and conduct technical bid evaluations.
  • Issue specifications, data sheets, and other essential construction documents.
  • May be required to provide the seal and signature of a professional engineer, ensuring adherence to all relevant codes and regulations.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in bridge design within highway infrastructure.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in steel and concrete bridge design.
  • Experience with INDOT projects is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CAD, CONSPAN, and other structural design software.
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
