Job Summary

University of New Mexico - Hospitals is seeking a skilled Ambulatory Nurse to join our team. As an Ambulatory Nurse, you will provide safe, direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in the ambulatory setting. This role requires clinical leadership for staff, clinical mentorship, and serving as a role model. You will provide full range of patient education to patients and family members, assume relief charge duties, and ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient's condition and nursing needs; set goals and utilize appropriate nursing actions to achieve goals
  • Provide and document nursing care, ensure that physician's orders are carried out, and administer medications and perform routine treatments
  • Assist physician with special tests, procedures, and complex treatments, and participate in orientation and evaluation of new personnel
  • Assist team members in patient care, coordinate patient care in conjunction with procedures by other UH departments and clinics, and process data and generates reports

Requirements

  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days, RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • 3 years directly related experience, bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo

Working Conditions

  • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people
  • Essential: Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE
