Job Summary: As an Occupational Therapist at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and functionality in their daily lives. You will assess patients' abilities, design personalized treatment plans, and implement interventions to improve their physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' abilities and design tailored treatment plans to address their specific needs.
  • Treatment Implementation: Implement evidence-based interventions to improve patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive function.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on adaptive equipment, support programs, and strategies to promote independence.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and advancements in occupational therapy through ongoing education and professional development.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
  • Experience: No experience required, but a strong foundation in occupational therapy principles and practices is essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant Standing: Stand for extended periods, often for 8-10 hours per day.
  • Frequent Lifting/Carrying: Lift and carry objects weighing 0-25 lbs, with occasional lifting of heavier objects.
  • Frequent Use of Hearing and Speech: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams through oral communication.
  • Frequent Use of Vision: Use visual acuity to judge distances, spatial relationships, and identify colors.
  • Occasional Bending/Stooping: Bend and stoop to assist patients or access equipment.
  • Occasional Lifting/Moving Patients: Safely lift and move patients as needed.

Professional Licenses and Certifications:

  • Occupational Therapist: Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), Missouri Division of Professional Registration, Oklahoma Medical Board, and Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
