Position Overview:
As a Sales Associate at Ann Taylor, you'll drive revenue by providing exceptional client services, building relationships, and presenting a clean, safe, and well-maintained store environment. You'll consistently achieve individual goals, supporting store objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Embody our values and set an example through your behaviors.
  • Ensure compliance with all ANN INC. practices and procedures.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager, Co-Manager, and Sales Leads.
Revenue Generation:
  • Meet or exceed divisional, store, and individual financial and credit goals, contributing to the store's overall objectives.
Client Experience:
  • Provide excellent client service by anticipating needs, exceeding expectations, and adhering to ANN INC. service experience standards.
  • Build relationships with clients, create client loyalty, and multi-task while servicing internal and external clients.
  • Address client concerns, coming to resolution when possible, and involving management where necessary.
  • Portray a gracious, friendly, energetic, and engaging manner, being respectful and professional at all times.
  • Take ownership, solicit and incorporate feedback for professional growth and development, consistently receiving positive, unsolicited client feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with store management, store team, and external clients in person, through written correspondence, and over the phone.
  • Build collaborative and productive relationships by sharing ideas, treating others fairly, with respect, and valuing differences.
  • Embody our values and behaviors, inspiring the team by leading by example through your words and actions, supporting an environment of learning and trust.
  • Be responsible for compliance with all Company policies, practices, and procedures, as well as all federal, state, and local laws.
Operations:
  • Complete opening and closing procedures and tasks as directed by the Leadership Team, with a client focus (e.g., replenishing merchandise, recovering the store and styling rooms, processing shipments, cleaning, merchandising moves, marketing updates, and price changes).
  • Meet merchandise processing standards and maintain an organized and accessible work area.
  • Adhere to Loss Prevention practices and be aware of and report potential incidents to ensure shortage control and protect company assets.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and report any potential hazards to store management (e.g., ensuring exits are unobstructed, ceiling clearance in the stockroom is enforced, rugs are not frayed, spills are cleaned up immediately, etc.).
  • Participate and assist in the preparation for the store's inventory.
  • Report to work as scheduled, record time worked accurately using ANN INC.'s Time and Attendance system, and remain flexible to the needs of the business.
  • Follow all ANN INC. operational guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Review Bulletin Boards daily.
Technical Expertise:
  • Demonstrate a desire and ability to be learner responsible and navigate the ANN INC. computer learning systems.
  • Perform register transactions quickly and efficiently (e.g., sales, send sales, returns, exchanges, payments).
  • Be proficient in using Distributed Order Maintenance (DOM's) and StyleFinder to locate product for clients and process transactions accurately.
  • Operate the phone, answering calls with an appropriate greeting, transferring, and placing calls on hold.
  • Operate and understand the functions of the PDT.
Product/Brand Management:
  • Understand and clearly articulate the Company's brand positioning, including the uniqueness of all expressions of ANN INC., current marketing and promotional initiatives, markdowns, POS events, Bounce Back promotions, coupon events, lifestyle concepts to internal and external clients.
  • Live the ANN INC. Purpose, Values & Behaviors, Practices in all interactions.
  • Participate in and attend Store Meetings.
  • Proactively use associate education tools to build product and styling knowledge with peers.
  • Embrace fashion, understand current market trends, and articulate them using ANN INC. interpretations in every client interaction, representing the brand by adhering to ANN INC.'s dress code guidelines.
  • Pack and wrap client purchases according to ANN INC. standards.
Position Requirements:
  • Client Service: Ability to function as a role model, ensuring the client remains the top priority, taking initiative to build a loyal client base.
  • Follow Directions: Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines as assigned with minimal supervision and within designated timeframes.
  • Merchandising: Knowledge of visual standards and techniques, and ability to implement and maintain with ANN INC.'s guidelines.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with Clients, Members of Management, Business Partners, and Store Associates.
  • Accuracy: Ability to handle cash and provide change without error.
  • Schedule: Remain flexible in scheduling that meets the needs of the business.
  • Physical: Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally, maneuver effectively around the sales floor and stock room.
Educational Requirements and Experience:
  • Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one year sales associate or relevant experience in the services industry with proven results.
