Job Overview

Retread Technician

At Wilks Tire & Battery Service, our skilled technicians engage in the retreading of commercial tires. This role operates within a manufacturing setting, where commercial truck tires undergo retreading through a combination of manual and automated processes. No prior experience in tire retreading is necessary for this position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive training in all facets of tire retreading, which includes inspecting and buffing tire carcasses, applying rubber compounds, curing, and conducting quality assessments.
  • Adhere to established processes to ensure the successful completion of retreaded tires.
  • Follow all safety protocols and liability policies, including the use of protective equipment to guarantee safe machine operation.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Execute a variety of manual tasks for extended durations, which may involve lifting both light and heavy materials, including commercial tires and wheels, as well as standing, bending, and squatting.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Dedication to adhering to all safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Willingness to work scheduled shifts, including weekends.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Candidates must possess legal authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, both now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
