Position Summary:

The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring service operations run smoothly by inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles using advanced equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to accurately diagnose issues.
  • Examine vehicle computer and electronic systems for repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Conduct routine maintenance (fluid replacements, lubrication, etc.) to enhance vehicle functionality and longevity.
  • Repair or replace defective parts and resolve issues.
  • Provide precise estimates regarding repair or maintenance costs and timeframes.
  • Maintain logs of work performed and issues encountered.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are kept in excellent condition.
  • Communicate with Service Advisors to keep customers informed about additional service needs.
  • Execute repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Test-drive vehicles and utilize diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
  • Perform other technical duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as an auto mechanic or technician with problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle components.
  • Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic systems and methodologies.
  • Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment safely.
  • Commitment to observing safety precautions to prevent accidents and exposure to hazardous materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Texas State Inspectors Safety License.
  • High school diploma; vocational school certification or apprenticeship completion preferred.
  • Flexibility in work schedule.
  • A-B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
