At Tufts Medicine, we are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Melrose/Wakefield Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up individual case carts with appropriate instruments and equipment for next day cases.
  • Perform the role of the scrub person during surgical procedures, maintaining the sterile field and anticipating the surgeon's needs.
  • Carry out technical tasks other than cutting, clamping, and suturing of tissues.
  • Apply electrocautery to clamps, not tissue, on bleeders under the supervision of the surgeon.
  • May assist anesthesiologist and other personnel in setting up equipment and obtaining emergency or other supplies.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program OR Massachusetts's Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
