Position Overview

General Overview: This role involves providing care for both large and small animals under the guidance of a Veterinarian, along with performing essential administrative tasks. The ideal candidate should have a passion for working with animals and possess excellent interpersonal skills, as a significant portion of the day will be spent interacting with clients and producers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering vaccinations and performing procedures under the supervision of a Veterinarian.
  • Comfortably handling both small and large animals.
  • Assisting with animal restraint and management during examinations, surgeries, and various procedures.
  • Facilitating the movement of cattle within pens and chutes.
  • Supporting laboratory testing efforts.
  • Engaging in client communications, including phone interactions, discharge instructions, medical history documentation, appointment scheduling, and educational outreach.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to foster a healthy clinic environment.
  • Assisting with inventory control and maintenance.
  • Providing customer service support in the retail area as needed.
  • Performing additional duties as required and as experience is acquired.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the animal health sector is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic office skills and customer service experience are essential.
  • A willingness to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team is necessary.
  • Physical requirements may include passing a pre-employment physical, which entails bending, stooping, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
