About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Economics Engineer to join our team at National Grid USA. As a key member of our Strategic Network Development team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our electricity system.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize pan-European market models to assess the impact of projects or policies on the overall cost of operating the electricity network.
- Develop and lead in the scoping and delivery of new analysis and model development.
- Represent the ESO in cross-industry work, ensuring the robustness of data inputs and presenting the results of your analysis.
- Document processes and provide oversight, challenge, and advice to other team members.
- Career experience in economics, data science, or analysis.
- A degree in economics, a STEM subject, or other relevant experience in a numerate discipline.
- Logical, creative, and practical approach to problem-solving and ability to break down complex problems.
- Confidence using large bespoke software and high-level computer literacy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate key messages to internal and external stakeholders.
- A competitive salary between £49,000 - £69,000 per annum, dependent on experience and capability.
