Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to provide clinical services according to radiology practice standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiologic principles, theory, anatomy, and pathology processes.
Key Responsibilities- Administer sound patient care practice according to hospital and department policies/procedures to ensure the safety of patients.
- Demonstrate radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
- Complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
- Assist in teaching radiography students sound radiography principles.
- Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent.
- Assist physicians in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions, and/or sterile techniques.
- Graduate of an accredited radiology school or program.
- American Registered Radiologic Technologists within 12 months of hire.
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist Upon Start Must be licensed as required by the state of employment if employed at an Inova Health System free-standing Imaging Center not affiliated with an Inova hospital.
- One year of combined classroom and clinical training in radiology.
- Recent experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a Radiologic Technologist or student.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
