Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Psychiatrist to join our team at the University of Michigan. This is a full-time, exempt position that offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

About the Role

This Staff Psychiatrist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality psychiatric care to University of Michigan students. The successful candidate will have expertise in conducting psychiatric evaluations and ongoing pharmacological treatment with a college-age population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine and urgent outpatient psychiatric assessments
  • Provide ongoing medication management
  • Coordinate care with local inpatient psychiatric units, psychiatric emergency rooms, and local treatment providers
  • Order or execute various tests and analyses to provide information on patient's condition
  • Effectively counsel patients on lifestyle modifications relevant to prevention of disease
Requirements
  • Graduation M.D./D.O. from an accredited medical school
  • Full, unrestricted license (or license-eligible) as a physician in the State of Michigan
  • Board certified or board-eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
  • Possession of a State and Federal Narcotics and Controlled Substance license
Working Conditions

This position is hybrid and offers some flexibility for remote work. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually (at a minimum) and are subject to change depending on the business needs of the department.
