We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced AIT Systems Engineer to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center. The selected candidate will provide critical support to the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) efforts in support of NASA's Gateway.

Responsibilities

The candidate will act as the PPE AIT Lead and be responsible for maintaining insight into the PPE spacecraft AIT of NASA's industry partner (IP), providing assessments to NASA teams responsible for oversight of the IP, supporting IP production meetings and assisting in issue resolution, facilitating resolutions of work issues and non-conformances between NASA and the IP, maintaining insight and resolving issues with the IP spacecraft level test plans and procedures, managing and facilitating transfer of Government Furnished Equipment to the IP in support of spacecraft AIT, supporting PPE spacecraft integration and launchsite activities of the IP, assisting the PPE Launch Vehicle (LV) Lead with LV integration, assisting in planning for European Radiation Sensor Array (ERSA)/Small ORU (Orbital Replacement Unit) Robotics Interface (SORI) integration, and assisting ERSA/SORI integration at the IP launchsite. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for Test Like You Fly (TLYF) activities that include defining and documenting the PPE TLYF process and defining, documenting, and processing PPE TLYF exceptions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have experience with systems engineering for spacecraft hardware, knowledge or experience with AIT and TLYF, excellent communication skills for interacting with the NASA team and their industry partners, highly motivated and able to work independently, and committed to successful collaboration with the NASA team and industry partners. The candidate should also have experience with system-level AIT and TLYF for large spacecraft, working with NASA spaceflight hardware projects, and education/experience equivalent to a Bachelor of Science degree with 20+ years of relevant experience.
