The Engineering Project Manager is accountable for delivering comprehensive engineering assistance across various concurrent projects. This role encompasses overseeing design approvals, project layouts, procurement and receipt of materials, scheduling, project reporting, contract obligations, installation, and additional project-related responsibilities.
The successful candidate will provide both 2D and 3D design solutions, integrating multiple elements of an engineered product to ensure proper fit, functionality, and positioning for the client before fabrication commences.
Utilizing a solid understanding of manufacturing environments, assembly processes, and tooling, the Project Manager will offer technical guidance to enhance project outcomes. The role also involves identifying areas for process improvements, optimizing assembly techniques, refining production equipment, and elevating quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute project setup, updates, and closure within the Rhino Tool House ERP system.
- Manage the ordering, tracking, receiving, reconciling, and staging of materials.
- Oversee all project documentation and liaise with vendors regarding deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams about project specifications, deliverables, tasks, and progress.
- Handle project modifications and monitor financial aspects of projects.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required. A minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical design engineering is essential.
Proven expertise in 3D Design and Layout is necessary, along with a thorough understanding of manufacturing plants, assembly processes, and tooling.
Familiarity with software tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Pro/E, MS Project, MS Visio, Navisworks, Mathcad, Adobe Photoshop, PILOT NV5235, and MSC visualNastran 4D is expected.
A Professional Engineer license in any U.S. state and active membership in the National Society of Professional Engineers is required. Remote work options are available for candidates within a reasonable commuting distance. Some travel (up to 20%) to project sites may be necessary.
