About the Role

Credit Acceptance Corporation is a leading provider of used car financing solutions, and we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering and Analytics Team, you will play a critical role in developing, monitoring, and maintaining complex software systems that drive our business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software applications using modern frameworks and technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions
  • Write unit tests and validate software against acceptance criteria
  • Conduct impact analysis to proactively identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies
  • Lead code reviews and communicate application changes to the team
  • Document code and projects to ensure knowledge sharing and reuse
  • Debug production issues and propose effective solutions
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies and contribute to sprint commitments
  • Lead continuous learning activities to improve design and code quality
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming languages and design patterns
  • Practical experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • Experience working on mission-critical enterprise-class applications
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor less experienced team members
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading technical direction of a team of software engineering talent
  • Advanced understanding of IDEs and ability to navigate through them quickly
  • In-depth usage and creation of application programming interfaces (APIs) and frameworks
  • Experience in API security, analytics, throttling, caching, logging, and request/response modifications
