Aircraft Painter Job Description

STS Technical Services is seeking a skilled Aircraft Painter to join our team in Perryville, Missouri. As an Aircraft Painter, you will be responsible for prepping and painting aircraft according to manufacturers' maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities:

• Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
• Ensure reliable transportation to get to work each day.
• Prep and paint aircraft per manufacturers' maintenance manuals.
• Train team members to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Schedule with the parts department to ensure necessary materials are available.
• Conduct paint shop quality control.
• Maintain a clean and orderly paint shop and work facilities.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft paint experience.
• Familiarity with all types of paint equipment.
• Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised, and maintain a rapid pace.
• Quality-oriented and a team player.
• Organize and prioritize work.
• Supervise, motivate, and direct staff.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
• Routine walking, bending, and squatting or sitting.
• Work standing on ladders or scaffolds.
• Pass pulmonary physical prior to employment.
• Pass respiratory fit test.

Mental Requirements:

• Understand and implement regulations and guidelines, including OSHA and hazmat.
• Communicate with employees, customers, and vendors in a professional manner.
• Work with others in a professional manner.
• Read various documents.
• Plan and organize procedures and operations.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a heated hangar or shop area.
• Work in aircraft on the ramp may occur.
• Varied positions in and around the aircraft.
