Position Purpose:

The School of Kinesiology, Counseling, and Rehabilitative Sciences at Northern Kentucky University aims to establish a pool of qualified part-time instructors for courses in exercise science.

Note: This posting is intended to create a database of potential part-time faculty members and does not correspond to a specific position.


Key Responsibilities:

The primary duties include:

1) Delivering a three-credit hour course.

2) Developing a comprehensive syllabus with a detailed class schedule.

3) Offering designated office hours for student consultations.

4) Utilizing the Canvas and MyNKU platforms for course management.

Additionally, under the guidance of the Academic Department Chair:

* Prepare and oversee syllabus materials. The adjunct faculty member is responsible for selecting and organizing assessments, assignments, and online discussions that effectively measure student performance against established learning objectives.

Collaborate with the academic department chair to align course materials and curriculum. The adjunct faculty member is tasked with reviewing any changes to textbooks and other instructional resources with the academic department chair and other full-time faculty involved in the course.

Facilitate effective classroom instruction. The adjunct faculty member is responsible for conducting classes in accordance with the outlined learning objectives and session plans.

Evaluate student performance based on course deliverables and established rubrics. All grades must be submitted through the MyNKU system.


Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in exercise science or a related field.

Certification as an NSCA Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) is preferred.
