Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sonographer to join our team at Wellstar Health System, Inc. as a Weekend Sonographer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnostic medical sonography and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetric, and vascular exams.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functioning.
  • Position patients for exams, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Obtain and maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and exam results.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality imaging and patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ultrasound technology and techniques, attending training and education sessions as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Sonography Program.
  • Registered Medical Sonographer (RMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in diagnostic medical sonography.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced certification in a specialty area, such as abdominal or obstetric sonography.
  • Experience with ultrasound equipment and software.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
