Actuarial Director Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Director to join our team at Elevance Health. As an Actuarial Director, you will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and responding to financial risks inherent in the pricing and development of health insurance products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and interpret data and related formulae to inform business decisions
  • Monitor trends of profit and profitability by line of business and/or product
  • Serve as an Actuarial representative on major, multi-function projects
  • Organize and direct the staffing and workflow of the section

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree and minimum of 6 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
  • FSA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA)

Preferred Skills:

  • Extensive expertise in data analysis, interpretation, and presentation
  • Highly proficient with a wide range of modern actuarial and financial resources, programs, and tools

Hybrid Workforce Strategy:

Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy. Unless specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, associates are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process. Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.
