About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer Intern to join our team at Southland Industries Inc. As a Project Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including HVAC design and build construction, and gain hands-on experience in project coordination and design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support field labor and provide feedback on labor performance
  • Assist in equipment and subcontractor procurement, and manage the submittal process
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, and assist in budget analysis and cost projections
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, vendors, and suppliers to procure and manage equipment and materials
  • Assist in the development of project designs and coordinate with design teams
  • Provide support for project managers and design managers in coordinating projects
Requirements
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Safety Sciences
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn company-specific software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
