Job Responsibilities

As a Patient Care Technician at UW Health, your primary responsibility will be to assist nursing staff in providing high-quality patient care. Your duties may include:

  • Assisting with vital sign measurements and documenting patient information
  • Providing basic care and support to patients, such as bathing and dressing
  • Assisting with treatments and procedures, including EKGs and monitoring
  • Updating nurses on patient status and concerns
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of fundamentals of nursing course
  • Registration on the Illinois Department of Health Registry
  • Bi-annual CPR designation
Skills and Qualifications

You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Computer experience is helpful, but not required.
