Job OverviewPosition Title: Patient Care Assistant

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Clinical Nurse Manager or designated representative

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of a Nursing Supervisor and/or Staff RN, the Patient Care Assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks related to the treatment and support of patients, adhering to the established protocols and procedures of the facility.

Compensation: Starting wage of $17.48 (non-certified) or $18.90 (certified). The stated wage aligns with the relevant collective bargaining agreement and reflects the current entry-level or new graduate rate for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on the applicant's pertinent experience and qualifications, which could justify a higher wage in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement. The wage range for this position may be subject to future adjustments based on various factors including market conditions, operational needs, legal changes, and other relevant considerations consistent with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Licensure:
  • Current BLS certification for healthcare providers.
  • Completion of all competencies and job-related requirements.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Nurse Assistant training program.
Skills/Experience:
  • If currently enrolled in a nursing program, completion of at least one semester of clinical fundamentals in an RN or LPN degree program.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with standard hospital protocols.
  • Ability to safely assist with patient mobility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Licensure:
  • CNA Certification.
Skills/Experience:
  • A minimum of six months of paid nursing experience in acute care, long-term care, or home health settings, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
