The Radiation Therapist plays a crucial role in the administration of ionizing radiation to patients, adhering to the directives and guidelines set forth by the Radiation Oncologist while maintaining established protocols and practices.
Work Status:
PRO RE NATA (AS NEEDED) | 16.00 Hours Every Two Weeks
Shift: Days
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: Starting at $37. Actual compensation may vary based on individual skills and experience, as well as other factors.
Key Responsibilities:
The Radiation Therapist is tasked with:
- Administering ionizing radiation treatments to patients as per the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.
- Monitoring and comforting patients throughout their treatment sessions, promptly reporting any unusual reactions to the physician.
- Maintaining accurate records of radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient responses.
- Implementing radiation safety protocols and utilizing protective devices to comply with regulatory standards, ensuring the safety of both patients and staff.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) certification.
- Certified Radiation Therapy Technologist (CTT) credential.
- Radiation Therapy (T) certification.
